Stax Records issued this collection of promotional posters in 1971-72, the second such collection issued by the label since breaking away from Atlantic Records in 1968. These posters, sent to record stores, radio stations, and music writers, specifically highlighted the soul and R&B portion of the Stax catalog. Top selling artists like the Staple Singers and the Booker T & the MGs are represented, as are rising stars like Canadian singer Eric Mercury.
